A Desire to Give Back

My name is Debbie and I am one of more than 13,500 women in Australia diagnosed with Breast Cancer each year. More than 2,680 women are dying from this disease annually in Australia. Around 1 in 8 Australian women will develop Breast Cancer at some point in their lifetime. These are very real and frightening statistics.

Having Breast Cancer has been a deeply personal and life-changing journey. For myself and also for my loved ones.

From a position of health and gratitude for life, what has become most important to me, is that I want to give back to those who have kindly supported me.

Why 5 Rooms Retreat?

My husband and I established 5 Rooms Retreat with the sole intention of raising funds to donate to Breast Cancer research.

Research is the only way that will lead to understanding this potentially life threatening and invasive disease. Research can lead us towards disease prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment. Ultimately leading to higher cure rates and longer survival rates.

We want the money we’re contributing to be a small step in having Breast Cancer become a more treatable disease. We hope to reduce the disruption and devastation that this disease is to one’s life and family.

The funds raised through 5 Rooms Retreat will go to Breast Cancer Research Centre WA and Cancer Council WA.

I hope we can provide a beautiful holiday for you and your family or friends at 5 Rooms Retreat in gorgeous Margaret River.
